DannyGreen achieved Vietnam Organic Certification (VCO) for DannyGreen Organic Farm Chau Thanh – Hau Giang. This is a testament to pioneering efforts in producing clean, safe and sustainable agricultural products, both affirming the superior quality of the products and actively contributing to the development of Vietnam’s organic agriculture.
What is VCO Organic Certification?
This is a certification issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology according to standard TCVN 11041-2:2017 for organic farming. To achieve VCO certification, the growing process needs to ensure strict organic requirements:
- Do not use seeds and propagation materials from genetically modified plants, prioritize using organically produced plant varieties.
- Arable land in organic farming must meet current regulations on limits of heavy metals and pesticide residues according to National Technical Regulations on allowable limits of some heavy metals in soil and National Technical Regulations on pesticide residues in soil.
- Water sources used in farming need to be used appropriately according to the needs of the plants and avoid waste. Water used in organic farming must meet the requirements prescribed by National Technical Regulations on surface water quality and National Technical Regulations on underground water quality.
- Measures to prevent harmful organisms must be carried out according to organic standards and do not use chemicals to kill pests.
